1. Identity and address of the controller
Ángel Gustavo Medeles Córdova, an individual carrying on business activity and trading commercially as Lago Travel Services (hereinafter, "Lago Travel Services" or "the Controller"), with Federal Taxpayer Registry number MECA910627CT1 and a current registration in Mexico's National Tourism Registry under number 041403096F042, with address at Carretera Oriente 58C, Colonia Ajijic Centro, Chapala, Jalisco, C.P. 45920, Mexico, is responsible for the processing and protection of your personal data, under the Federal Law on the Protection of Personal Data Held by Private Parties (the "Law") published in the Official Gazette of the Federation on 20 March 2025.

2. Personal data processed
For the purposes set out in this notice, Lago Travel Services processes the following categories of personal data:
- Identification data: full name, date and place of birth, nationality, sex or gender as shown on your travel document, signature, and a photograph of your identity document or passport.
- Contact data: address, email address, landline and mobile telephone, WhatsApp number.
- Immigration and travel documentation data: passport number and expiry, visas, entry permits, CURP, and vaccination records where the destination requires them.
- Travel data: itineraries, bookings, seat numbers, meal, accommodation and transport preferences, frequent flyer programmes, travelling companions and their relationship to you.
- Financial and payment data: method of payment, billing details, tax status certificate, payment receipts and, where applicable, the bank card details strictly necessary to process the charge with the final supplier.
- Data concerning minors and persons under guardianship, provided by the person exercising parental authority, guardianship or legal representation.
- Browsing data, when you visit our website, as set out in section 8 of this notice.
Sensitive personal data
Where the service you book requires it, Lago Travel Services processes sensitive personal data consisting of: state of health, medical conditions, disability, special assistance requirements, allergies and dietary restrictions, and the data necessary to arrange travel assistance or insurance. Such data is collected only where it is indispensable in order to provide the service or for your safety while travelling, and its processing requires your express written consent, which is obtained separately using the corresponding form.
3. Purposes of processing
a) Primary purposes
These are necessary for the existence and performance of our legal relationship with you. Without this data we cannot provide the service:
- To identify you and verify your identity and that of your travelling companions.
- To quote, book, issue, amend and cancel travel services with the final suppliers (airlines, hotels, wholesalers, cruise lines, car rental companies, tour operators and insurers).
- To manage charges, payments, refunds, credit notes and electronic invoicing.
- To comply with tax, accounting, administrative and regulatory obligations, including those arising under the Federal Consumer Protection Law and the General Tourism Law.
- To send you operational information about your trip: confirmations, itinerary changes, immigration and health requirements, contingency notices and assistance while travelling.
- To handle queries, complaints, claims and proceedings before PROFECO (the federal consumer protection agency) or before the final suppliers.
- To create and keep the booking file for record-keeping and legal defence purposes.
b) Secondary purposes
These are not necessary for the service you have booked and require your consent. If you do not object, we will take it as given:
- To send you promotions, offers, newsletters, group departure catalogues and event invitations.
- To carry out satisfaction surveys and internal market research.
- To build travel preference profiles in order to recommend destinations and products.
- To publish travel photographs or testimonials on our digital channels, subject to specific authorisation.
You may object to any of the secondary purposes at any time by writing to info@lagotravelservices.com. Your refusal will not be grounds for denying you the services you have booked.
If Lago Travel Services intends to process your data for a purpose other than those set out in this notice, we will seek your consent again.
4. Transfers of personal data
In order to provide the service you have booked, your personal data is transferred to the final suppliers and to third parties in Mexico and abroad, including:

When transferring your data, Lago Travel Services provides the recipient with this privacy notice and with the purposes to which you have made the processing subject. The receiving third party assumes the same obligations as those incumbent on the Controller.
Some of these recipients are located outside Mexico, and international transfer is therefore inherent to the travel service you have booked.
If you do not consent to the transfers that require your authorisation, please say so by writing to info@lagotravelservices.com within five working days of this notice being made available to you. Your refusal will not affect the provision of the services you have booked.
5. Data processors
Lago Travel Services relies on technology providers that process personal data on its behalf and under its instructions (booking management systems, corporate email, website hosting, messaging and electronic invoicing). These providers act as processors rather than as third-party recipients, and are contractually bound to maintain confidentiality and not to use the data for their own purposes.
6. Means of limiting the use or disclosure of your data
You may limit the use or disclosure of your personal data by any of the following means:
- A written request to info@lagotravelservices.com, stating the limitation you wish to apply.
- A request made in person at the Controller's address.
- The unsubscribe link included in every promotional communication we send you.
7. Exercising ARCO rights and withdrawing consent
You or your legal representative may at any time request access to your personal data, its rectification where it is inaccurate or incomplete, its cancellation where you consider it is not required for any of the stated purposes, and may object to its processing on legitimate grounds. You may also withdraw any consent you have given us.
How to exercise them
Send your request to info@lagotravelservices.com or submit it at the Controller's address, addressed to Lago Travel Services, including:
- Your name and address, or any other means of receiving our reply.
- A copy of current official identification proving your identity and, where applicable, the document evidencing legal representation.
- A clear and precise description of the data in respect of which you are exercising the right, except in the case of the right of access.
- The right you wish to exercise or what you are requesting and, in the case of rectification, the changes to be made together with supporting documentation.
- Any information that makes it easier to locate your personal data.
Timeframes
We will notify you of the decision taken within twenty working days of receiving your request and, if the request is granted, we will give effect to it within fifteen working days of that notification. These periods may be extended once, for an equal period, where the circumstances of the case justify it.
Exercising ARCO rights is free of charge; only the costs of reproduction, copies or postage may be charged.
Withdrawal of consent does not have retroactive effect and does not apply to data we are required to retain by law, because of an existing contractual obligation, or in order to establish liability arising from the processing.
8. Use of cookies and tracking technologies
The website www.lagotravelservices.com uses cookies, web beacons and similar technologies that collect browsing data such as IP address, browser type and operating system, pages visited, time spent on the site and referring site, in order to improve the browsing experience, measure the performance of the site and display relevant advertising.
You may disable these technologies at any time from your browser settings, under privacy or cookie settings. Disabling them may affect how some sections of the site work.
9. Security measures
Lago Travel Services maintains administrative, technical and physical security measures to protect your personal data against damage, loss, alteration, destruction, or unauthorised use, access or processing. All personnel involved in the processing are bound by confidentiality, an obligation that survives the end of their relationship with the Controller. In the event of a security breach that significantly affects your financial or moral rights, we will inform you immediately.
10. Data retention
Your personal data is retained for the duration of the contractual relationship and, thereafter, for as long as is necessary to comply with tax, accounting and record-keeping obligations and to establish liability arising from the service. Once those periods have elapsed, the data is blocked and subsequently deleted.
11. Changes to this privacy notice
This notice may be amended at any time to address legal reforms, requirements from the authorities, or changes in our business model or privacy practices. Any amendment will be published at www.lagotravelservices.com, in the Privacy Notice section, stating the date it was last updated, and will additionally be communicated by email to data subjects with an active contractual relationship. We recommend that you consult this page periodically.
12. Competent authority
If you consider that your right to the protection of personal data has been infringed, you may file a data protection request with the Ministry of Anti-Corruption and Good Governance within fifteen working days of the date on which you receive our reply, or from the expiry of the period we had in which to reply to you.
13. Acceptance
By providing your personal data by any means, by requesting a quote, by booking our services or by continuing to browse this site without objecting, you acknowledge that you have read this privacy notice and consent to the processing of your data on the terms described here.
